FD Community Federal Credit Union has been a trusted financial partner in the community for over 90 years. We pride ourselves in providing the highest level of personal service and the most affordable financial services available in the community today.
FD Community FCU is a full-service banking institution, and while there are some similarities between banks and credit unions, the over 86 million Americans who are credit union members today can tell you there are certain features that are unique to credit unions:
Focus on Personal Financial Services
Our credit union is focused on you, the individual. Whether you’re a community resident, worker, student, or community worker we offer you a full range of financial services designed to help improve your financial life!
Our conveniently located local branches offer an always-friendly staff, and our nationwide Allpoint ATM network guarantees you can get available funds from your accounts – ATM FEE-FREE – almost anywhere you happen to be. Our easy-to-use online banking and mobile app offer you super-convenient access from just about anywhere you are – at home or on the road. As your credit union, we are dedicated to knowing you and understanding your financial needs.
Cooperative & Not-for-Profit
No one person, small group, or organization owns the credit union. It is owned and governed by its members. Policy making is watched over by a volunteer Board of Directors elected by the members. As a cooperative, FD Community Federal Credit Union exists solely to provide members with affordable financial services. Our earnings are returned to members in the form of lower rates on loans, higher returns of savings, lower fees, and quality service.
Who Can Bank with Us?
FD Community Federal Credit Union changed to a community charter in 2001. With the community charter, our membership is open to persons who live, work, worship, or attend school in, and businesses and other legal entities located in the towns of Waterbury, Naugatuck, Cheshire, Watertown, Wolcott, Plymouth, Prospect, Oakville, Bethlehem, Thomaston, or Middlebury, Connecticut.
