CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

 

FD Community FCU is seeking a hands on Chief Operating Officer (COO) to assume responsibility for the operational functions of the credit union. Reporting to the President and CEO, the COO will make significant contributions to the formulation, development, implementation, and administration of the Credit Union’s policies and business objectives.

The COO will have direct responsibility for the strategic development and management of branch operations, member relations, information technology and security, compliance and human resources. Review and revise existing policies and procedures to ensure the credit union is operating effectively and efficiently.  The COO will also be responsible for ensuring branch staff establish and maintain professional business relationships with members and consistently provide excellent member service.

The COO will participate in Board of Directors and Committee meetings and assist the CEO, Board, and management in developing strategic planning while actively working towards achieving credit union goals.

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field with 10 years leadership and senior management experience working at a financial institution or equivalent experience is required.

ADMINSTRATIVE ASSISTANT

 

Role: Provide administrative support and assistance to lending and branch operations staff and ensure loan and member documentation is complete and accurate.

Essential Roles and Functions:

1. Answer routine phone calls from members with appropriate follow up.
2. Assist in identifying electronic documentation opportunities and implementation of those identified documents using Adobe Sign.
3. Tracking and follow up of electronic documents to ensure accurate and timely completion.
4. Filing of completed/closed loans, pulled paid loan files, miscellaneous filing as necessary.
5. Vehicle titles: pull paid files and mail released liens.  Follow up for missing titles never delivered from    Motor Vehicles.  Send new registration and titles to DMV on automobile refinancing. 
6. Mortgage lien releases: pull files, execute releases and refile as closed loans.
7. Prepare and organize home equity line and loan files.  Follow up for missing documentation such as    recorded liens.
8. Homeowner insurance follow up for missing or changed policies.
9. Prepare and organize signature and vehicle loan files. Complete follow up for missing documentation.
10. Returned mail: identify new address, send letter confirming address change, update core system.
11. Assist in dormant account processing by preparing letters to members.
12. Debit and credit cards: Assist in sending notification letters, ordering new cards, and closing                 compromised cards.
13. Serve as back-up for daily processing activities, such as, but not limited to:  ACH, share drafts,     mobile deposit, ATM, Debit Card reconcilement and daily processing of VISA credit card file uploads   and downloads.
14. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

Experience: Two years of similar or related experience in a credit union or banking environment including an understanding of deposit and loan products.

Education:  High school diploma.

Interpersonal Skills: With many of the duties being member facing, strong interpersonal skills are key with a great deal of diplomacy and trust combined with courtesy and tact.

Other Skills: Strong background in use of computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of Adobe Sign a plus.
