UPDATE 1/13/14:  Target has announced that 70 million of its customers' personal information may have been stolen in the payment card data breach, up from the 40 million originally announced.  In addition, the breach may affect customers who shopped at Target before the timeframe of November 27, 2013 to December 15, 2013 originally announced as well as those that shopped online.

FD Community FCU is awaiting notification from VISA as to which credit cards and debit cards may have been compromised. Once we are notified of the cards affected, we will begin the process of reissuing those cards to reduce the possibility of fraud.  

In the meantime, we recommend that you monitor your account activity closely utilizing the online tools available. Text alerts can be setup through online banking to notify you of payments exceeding $100 on your account.  Alerts for new charges to your credit card can be set up as well by registering your FD Community credit card at EZCard (www.ezcardinfo.com).

12/23/13:   Target notified the public on December 19th of a payment card data breach in the U.S. The breach occurred between November 27, 2013 and December 15, 2013 and these were IN STORE TARGET TRANSACTIONS ONLY. If you shopped Target online, you will not be affected.

If you are an FD Community FCU member and had used your Visa Credit or Visa Debit card at Target stores between the dates listed, you MAY have been affected.  Please monitor your account closely for any unusual or unauthorized activity.  Notify us immediately at 203-753-9201 during normal business hours if suspicious activity has occurred.  After hours, call (800) 237-6211 for VISA Credit Card and (800) 528-2273 for VISA Debit Card to report your card number as stolen and block fraudulent activity.
